OK, so as if the Spice Girls and Westlife smashing it in Croke Park over the past month isn't enough of a nostalgia overload, Samantha Mumba has just announced that she is releasing a "summer banger". And it has made us very giddy!

Speaking on Today FM's Dermot and Dave, the 36-year-old teased us with the news that, "I've been in the studio all year...so writing and recording new music" and the lads wanted to know what we can expect.

After a bit of gentle persuasion, Mumba revealed she has a "definite banger" tantalising close to completion and that it will be out during the summer.

"I'm doing everything independently, so I'm just being so over the top" she giggles, which explains why it has taken 17 mixes to get this track where she wants it to be.

Samantha also chats about her new album, what life is like in LA and has a laugh about the time she wore this £5million diamond dress to a Spiderman premiere:
