Before you ask any questions, there are three kids in the school!

Joe Whelan is - the father - of two thirds - of the children - that attend the local primary school on the island of Inishturk. Located 14kms off the coast of Mayo, Inishturk has a population of around 60 people and no different to the mainland, it’s in the middle of a housing crises. This puts into question the future of their only school and can cause islanders to seek employment on the mainland rather than staying on the island.

Joe joined Dermot and Dave to chat all about life on the island and his own story is quite interesting.
