Approximately 180 million people will be tuned into the Eurovision final this year - ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY MILLION...let that sink in.

The 'European' song contest is weird and wonderful in so many ways and this is what makes it's such an attractive event for social media users to comment on.

Last year roughly 11.5 million tweets were sent during the final show as users across the globe gave their opinions at a frantic pace.

On this morning's show, Head of communications at Twitter Ireland, Julie Dilger called in to studio to chat to Dermot and Dave about their platform and how they handle such a volume of cyber traffic.

Julie also hit us with some very interesting stats and explained the mystery of one of the greatest symbols of the 21st century - the hashtag.

You can catch the chat in full by pressing play in the image above the headline at the top of the page.
