We love a bit of randomness here on Dermot and Dave and the more random the better.
The international vibe was kicked off with a pre-show tweet from a fella listening from the world's biggest truck stop, in Iowa, USA, then there was a message into the show from Ger who was sheltering from a typhoon in Kyoto, Japan.
Then the icing on our gobal cake was an email from Gorey man Thomas, who was listening live from his army compound over in Kabul, Afghanistan. What are the odds?
The lads gave Thomas a call to hear what is involved in NATO's 'Operation Resolute Support', where he is "advising on some logistics and ammunition", and find out what life is like in one of the most dangerous places on the planet.
He's a huge Today FM fan and as he said in his mail, "you guys keep me sane".
Well it's either us or the salsa dancing Lieutenant Colonel.
Stay safe buddy and keep up the stellar work.
