With the presidential race heating up, Tommy Tiernan doesn't sit on the fence when it comes to who he thinks should be in office. He loves our pint-sized president and reckons, "even if he wants to go himself, I think he should be kept against his will".
And what about the Papal visit? The Navan man feels "he (Pope Francis) should have been dropped off at Skellig Michael for 10 days" to get a genuine sense of the country's spirituality. He has a couple of other funny suggestions too.
During his chat with Dermot and Dave, we discovered a very unique tactic Tommy uses to help generate new material, "I imagine an audience laughing and then I try to figure out what it was they found so funny". Talk about putting the cart before the horse.
He also admitted to finding his role in Derry Girls a breeze, "say these lines and take this money", told us how he wants to keep The Tommy Tiernan Show fresh and why he cannot wait to start his 10-night run of his new comedy show Paddy Crazy Horse in Vicar Street come January.
