As the weather improves and we wait on a date when we can get out around the country again, one thing you should consider is the impact you have on the places you visit.

Mel McDermot is the founder of Galz Gone Wild and she spoke to Mairead about what you can do in advance and while you're out in the great outdoors to leave it as great as you found it.

Mel works with Leave No Trace Ireland whose 7 Principles are the perfect starting place.

Mel also said that adventure is relative to each person, so just do what's comfortable for you. There's no need to go wild camping when there are so many campsites that include lots of amenities to make your trip more enjoyable.
