Forbes have released the top earning actors list

Hollywood action hero Liam Neeson is the only Irish actor to make it onto the Forbes highest-paid actors list.

The 'Taken' star made €18m in the past year and no other Irish actor came close to the Antrim man's pay packet.

Neeson came 22nd in the annual Forbes Actor Rich List, thanks to a string of big-budget productions in 2014.

The 63-year old, who recently featured in 'Ted 2' and 'Entourage', had major roles in the third instalment of the 'Taken' series, 'Run All Night' and 'A Walk Among the Tombstones'.

Although Neeson still ranks highly on the list, he has made a big drop from sixth place in 2014. He earned a staggering $36m (€27m) in the previous year.

Here's the top 10;

1. Robert Downey Junior €73 million

2. Jackie Chan €46 million

3. Vin Diesel €43 million

4. Bradley Cooper €38 million

5. Adam Sandler €37 million

6. Tom Cruise €36.5 million

7. Amitabh Bachchan €31million

8. Salman Kahn €31million

9. Akshay Kumar €30 million

Colin Farrell to star in a Harry Potter spin off

Colin Farrell is ready to cast a spell. He’s moving from the gritty world of True Detective to the magical Harry Potter universe.

The Irish actor has been cast in a supporting role in the JK Rowling-penned Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Farrell will be a playing a mysterious wizard in New York City. Fantastic Beasts follows fictional author Newt as he meets all sorts of strange and magical creatures in his travels.

A worldwide talent search is underway for a young actress to play a powerful little girl in the film.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens on November 18, 2016 in cinemas worldwide.

 

 

 

NEW ED SHEERAN TRACK IT’S FREE

Ed Sheeran has collaborated with Macklemore and Lewis on a new song called Growing Up (Sloan's Song).

It's the first release from the US duo in three years and was written by Macklemore about the birth of his daughter Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty in May.

Announcing the news on Twitter yesterday, Sheeran wrote: "New song dropping at 5pm today UK time" and continued: "Oh and it's free."

In a follow-up tweet he added: "It's a new collaboration and you think you've guessed it but you haven't innit. 5pm GMT."

Macklemore also turned to Twitter to announce the song's release.

“There is nothing like the joy and happiness that comes from bringing a baby into this universe. She has filled my heart in ways that I never knew were possible. She is the love of my life. This song is for her.”
