An RTÉ Investigates programme has reported that up to 6,000 greyhounds are being culled each year for not being fast enough.

It also revealed that the Irish greyhound industry is breeding 1,000% more puppies than it needs.

The information comes from a confidential business analysis report prepared for the Irish Greyhound Board by the consultants Preferred Results Ltd.

What can be done to change the way greyhounds are being treated?

We were joined by Independent TD Maureen O'Sullivan, Fine Gael TD and member of the agriculture committee Pat Deering, and Gerard Dollard, CEO of the Irish Greyhound Board, to discuss the issue.
