Many people have struggled with being unable to visit their loved ones in hospital during the pandemic, and the Vallely family are no exception.

Tara Vallely is trying to raise €400,000 to refit her home for her husband Des, who was seriously injured in a cycling accident earlier this year.

Des, who is now in rehab, couldn't see his children for six months because of COVID-19 restrictions. Tara now wants to move him home, as the only alternative is long-term hospitalisation or nursing home care, where his family would not be allowed to visit.
