Alcohol consumption in Ireland has trebled over the last five decades, while more than half of those who drink alcohol have been classified as harmful drinkers.

Cork-based GP Dr Nick Flynn joined us for our weekly medical slot to talk about why he believes we have an unhealthy relationship with alcohol in this country.

He spoke about the various health complications that can arise from excess alcohol consumption, and how to recognise harmful drinking.
