Donald Trump provoked outrage last week when he suggested that the injection of disinfectant into the body should be looked into as a cure for COVID-19.

At yesterday's press briefing, the US President claimed his comments had been "sarcastic" when asked whether he took responsibility for the fact that some people had injected disinfectant.

Cal Thomas and Marion McKeone gave their thoughts on this story in our weekly US slot.
