Former Tyrone footballer Sean Cavanagh spoke to us on The Last Word last week about his autobiography and his experience of violence on the pitch throughout his career.

A photograph has now emerged on social media showing horrific injuries he sustained during a club game on Saturday.

Cavanagh was brought to hospital at half-time with multiple facial injuries, including a broken nose.

A total of 27 cards were shown by the referee during the game.

Does the GAA need to do more to tackle violence on the pitch?

Former Tyrone All-Ireland winner Peter Canavan and sports writer Ewan MacKenna discussed the issue.
