There's sad news for fans of the famous Volkswagen Beetle, as it has been announced that the car will be going out of production due to a decline in sales.
The Beetle first hit the market in 1945, but the original idea dates back to Nazi Germany in the early 1930s. Hitler wanted a 'people's car' that could be mass-produced for his new road network, which became the autobahn.
Interestingly, the first Beetle ever assembled outside Germany was in Ballsbridge, Dublin.
