Martin Conmey was wrongfully convicted of the manslaughter of Una Lynskey in Co. Meath in 1971, for which he served three years in prison.
In 1989, inspired by the release of the Guildford 4, he began the campaign to clear his name.
This finally happened in 2016, more than 40 years after his wrongful conviction.
Martin's story is now being told in Finné, a TG4 documentary series looking at miscarriages of justice in Ireland, which starts tonight at 9.30pm.
Martin and the documentary's producer and director, Paddy Hayes, joined Sinead O'Carroll on The Last Word to talk about the story and why they hope it will change people's attitudes, as well as being a healing process for Martin.
