Roddy Doyle's latest novel, Love, is the story of two old school friends who reconnect in Dublin and spend an evening together in a series of pubs.

Its publication was delayed by the last lockdown, and over the last few months COVID-19 has taken away the camaraderie of the Irish pub, where the novel is set.

Roddy joined us on The Last Word to talk about the book, the death of pub culture and what it means to be an Irish male.
