The government has been forced to deny rumours that an emergency lockdown will be enforced in Ireland on Monday, after claims were made in a WhatsApp voice message.

It's just one of many pieces of misinformation about the coronavirus that have been circulating on social media. Others include the myth that drinking water every 15 minutes will protect you from the virus, and tips on how to make your own hand sanitiser.
