Chatting to KC about covering tracks, Matt admitted: “I murdered a fair few songs on X Factor but I only reserve an apology for Biffy”. His 2010 debut single "When We Collide" was a cover of Biffy Clyro’s “Many of Horror”, and sparked quite a reaction from Biffy fans. The cover went on to sell over a million copies.

Matt took the opportunity to apologise to Biffy fans again on The KC Show: “I apologise for the name change and the key change. That song is an incredibly beautiful song the way it was, no key change, no fireworks, no getting off your stools halfway through. And it’s called ‘Many of Horror’”.

He wouldn’t confirm those Mel C rumours – just that “everything is fine” – but did chat about hand holding and that passionate kiss.

The KC Show recently held a very special invite-only show with Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro at the newly re-opened HMV in Dublin's Henry Street. The lucky fans who got to go were treated to several acoustic performances, a private signing session and a Q&A with the band. Watch the best bits here
