The choice of our judging panel for the first of two midfielders on the 15 for 15 selection is (pause): Kerry’s Darragh Ó’Sé.
If you think about a traditional high fielding player in the centre of the pitch, ‘Darragh’ comes immediately to mind. 77 times Darragh Ó’Sé would start a Championship game for the Kingdom and he was practically indispensible to their cause.
Darragh Ó’Sé was a man for the big occasion.
A natural leader with physical strength and no shortage of skill, the An Ghaeltacht clubman was an ever present with the green and gold for 15 years until 2009. Not only was he present, he carried a massive presence.
He made a major impact on the game throughout the new millennium, helping Kerry win All Irelands in 2000, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2009. He also received 4 All Star Awards. Darragh Ó’Sé was an engine our judges could not do without.
