The choice of our judging panel for the second of two midfielders on the 15 for 15 selection is (pause): Tyrone’s Sean Cavanagh.
Since breaking onto the Tyrone panel as a 19 year old in 2002, Sean Cavanagh has dominated the sport by method of his class as a footballer, his versatility and his consistency.
In 2008 Sean was named Footballer of the Year, kicking 5 points from play from full forward against Kerry in the final as Tyrone won their third All Ireland crown.
But it was at midfield that Moy clubman Cavanagh announced his arrival on the national stage, winning many a battle against his rivals in Armagh and Kerry as Tyrone made the breakthrough in 2003 and came back for more in 2005.
Last month Sean Cavanagh made his 79th Championship appearance for Tyrone. He’s been a dynamic force in football, winning ball, running hard, scoring points, shuffling.
Congratulations to Daire Kennelly, who selected Sean, and who has won a SKY package for a year.
