Arsenal, you party poopers!

The Gunners may have ended Sutton United's remarkable run to the FA Cup fifth round, but the non-league side can head back to their National League grind with their heads held high.

Just as there won't be too many Arsenal fans getting excited about a 2-0 win, there won't be too many Sutton fans thinking their players left an ounce on the pitch.

Despite the result, it was a night at Gander Green Lane that summed up all that was great about the FA Cup. Premier League giants against fifth-tier no-hopers. Tiny stands packed to the brim. Different worlds colliding. It just felt like an occasion.

Sutton looked assured and confident for the first half hour, before Lucas Perez's low cross bobbled it's way into the bottom corner to give Arsenal the lead. The hope still flickered until the 55th minute when Nacho Monreal was played in down the left, and his cross was buried for his 100th Arsenal goal.

They may not have found the net, but the noise that greeted Roarie Deacon's long range effort as it walloped the crossbar was enough to make you jump from your chair at home.

The full time whistle brought the curtain down on one of the great FA Cup stories in recent years, but the memories will last forever.

It's not the end of the David v Goliath ties in the cup though, because in the quarter finals Arsenal will host another non-league giantkiller Lincoln City at the Emirates Stadium, after their incredible win against Burnley at the weekend.
