Bohs to lose Devoy to Dons as Pat's snap up Preston's O'Reilly

Bohemians' close season continues to be dominated by outgoings, with Dawson Devoy the next to depart.

It's been reported that English League One side MK Dons have met Bohs' buyout clause for the PFAI Young Player of the Year.

The 20-year old attacking midfielder helped Bohs reach last year's FAI Cup final, and was one of the standout performers as Keith Long's side made it all the way to the 3rd qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

His departure would continue a pre-season of major player turnover at Dalymount Park. Ross Tierney has already joined Motherwell, top-scorer Georgie Kelly has informed the club - and other league rivals - that he won't be back amid interest from abroad.

Captain Keith Buckley has left for Australia, and centre-half Rob Cornwall has linked up with USL League One newcomers, Northern Colorado Hailstorm.

Full-back Andy Lyons has also attracted interest from the UK, and Long's been left with a big rebuilding job on his hands before their season-opener away to Sligo Rovers in a month's time.

Devoy was one of eleven players to sign up for the 2022 season so, even with the accompanying fee, his departure will be keenly felt.

O'Reilly to Pat's

Tim Clancy has continued to remodel the St. Pat's squad, with the loan signing from Preston of Adam O'Reilly.

The midfielder spent last season on loan at Waterford, playing 16 games in the Blues unsuccessful battle against relegation.

"Adam really impressed at Waterford in his loan spell last season and he is a player who I've been monitoring for quite a while," Clancy said, "He'll add a lot to our midfield options and myself and the coaching staff are looking forward to welcoming Adam to the group and working with him.

"He's exactly the type of player we want at the club."

The FAI Cup winners have been extremely busy since their joyous outing to the Aviva Stadium, with the likes of Eoin Doyle,  Tunde Owolabi, Joe Redmond, Mark Doyle and Anto Breslin all joining.

O'Reilly said, "The team did so well last year, winning the cup and finishing second in the league, so I'm really excited to be here.

"I think my spell at Waterford had something to do with my loan to St Pat's, I feel I did my best there and St Pat's got in touch with Preston and I couldn't really say no to the offer.

"I'm a box to box midfielder, I'll be hoping to add some goals and do my best to benefit to the team and the club."
