Di Maria scores two goals for PSG against former team as they defeat Real 3-0.

Angel Di Maria scores two goals for PSG against his former team as they defeat Real Madrid 3-0 in their Champions League group opener.

Di Maria opened the scoring 14 minutes in with a powerful shot that flew past Thibaut Courtois at his near post. Then in the 33rd minuted he followed that up by sending one into the bottom right corner.

Gareth Bale then looked to have got a goal back for Real and sunk the ball into the back of the net, only for it to be disallowed after VAR showed it to have been a handball, brushing across Bale’s wrist en route.

After a one-two with Di Maria, Thomas Meunier made his way towards the goal before passing to Juan Bernat who decided to feed it back to Meunier to fire home and make it 3-0 in injury time.

Manchester City

Man City also made their presence known with another 3-0 victory.

Riyad Mahrez was the one to tap in the first goal for City after a shot by Ilkay Gundogan hit the post and rebounded back to the former Leicester star. Mahrez was quick to return the favour and only three minutes later gave it to Gundogan to make it 2-0.

The third goal arrived in the second half as Kevin De Bruyne, Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus pushed forward. De Bruyne had the ball and an option to either side. Jesus was available on the left and knocked it past Pyatov for the final goal of the game.

Atletico 2-2 Juventus

Juventus took the lead in the second half as Juan Cuadrado put the ball in the top corner with an excellent strike. Maurizio Sarri’s side were looking confident as Matuidi tapped in a second goal after Cristiano Ronaldo made the run down the left and fed Alex Sandro the ball to cross it in.

Atletico weren’t finished though and moments later Savic brought them back into the game. The game raged on and Herrera ended up with the equalizer leaving it at 2-2

Bayern

Bayern Munich were the third team of the night to win 3-0 as they dominated against Red Star Belgrade with 73% possession, 33 shots and 11 on target.

Kingsley Coman opened the scoring in the 34th minute with a header into the bottom left corner after an excellent cross from Ivan Perisic.

Despite their dominance, Bayern didn’t get their second until the 80th minute when Robert Lewandowski scored a goal much like the first - from close-range and a bottom left corner finish. Thomas Muller then scored in injury time after an assist by Thiago Alcantara.
