Last Saturday I watched New Zealand beat USA 74-6 at Soldier Field in Chicago which was no real surprise. However I was surprised the commentary was American and although it wasn’t meant to be amusing I found myself laughing regularly.
The NBC commentators referred to line breaks as “ rumbles “, a hand off was a “ fend off “ and then Israel Dagg “ crosses for a five “.
Sports commentary is a serious business but so often it can be comedy gold and there have been so many moments down the years that have left me in stitches.
Ray Hudson is always entertaining but don’t know if I could put up with him for 90 minutes:
