Dave Chisnall stands between Michael van Gerwen and a fifth World Grand Prix title

Michael van Gerwen will bid to win a fifth Boylesports PDC World Grand Prix title tonight when he faces five-time major finalist Dave Chisnall at Dublin's CityWest tonight.

Reigning world champion van Gerwen eased to a whitewash 4-0 victory over Chris Dobey in last night's semi-finals and MVG feels he's hitting his top form ahead of the final:

"Chris has done so well this week but I kept him under pressure. He had nothing to lose and has got a lot of talent, but it was difficult for him tonight.

"I think I did the right things at the right moments, like the 156 to win the second set. It wasn't as easy as the score would say and I can improve, so I have to prepare myself right for the final.

"My record against Dave is great but I still have to make sure I perform in the final. I have to keep putting him under pressure to that he starts missing but he's been brilliant in this tournament so far."

2013 Grand Prix runner-up Chisnall was an equally impressive 4-1 winner against former BDO champion against Glen Durrant in the other semi-final.

"I believe I can win a major. If I do everything right on the night I can win any tournament," Chizzy said of chances in the decider.

"I've got to start quicker in finals because I keep giving players big leads. I've never played anyone other than Taylor and Michael in a big final, if it's someone else I might have a chance of winning one!"
