On 7 under par Soren Kjeldson has a two shot lead after day 3 of the Irish Open at Royal County Down where conditions were a bit easier than the first two days.
The Dane produced some superb golf to give him a four shot cushion having started the day as one of six players in a share of the lead on 3 under.
He made six birdies and didn’t drop any shots until he bogeyed the 17th and 18th.
Germany’s Max Kieffer is in a share of the second place on 5 under par thanks to a course record 65.
Spain’s Rafa Cabrera Bello is also 5 under and then you have Tyrell Hatton, Richie Ramsay and Bernd Wiesberger on 4 under.
Rickie Fowler gave himself an outside chance of challenging tomorrow when he eagled the short par 4 16th to go 2 under but the American then finished with two 8’s.
A quadruple bogey on the 17th and triple on the 18th so he’s 5 over and is alongside Padraig Harrington in a share of 36th place.
The sell out crowd were hoping that the 2007 champion could win his second Irish Open title but he carded a round of 78 which included seven bogeys and a double bogey.
Remember he was 7 under after 10 holes yesterday and started the day on 2 under.
That means Graeme McDowell and Paul McGinley are best of the Irish on 3 over while Shane Lowry is 4 over.
