Donegal are Ulster Champions for the 10th time.

The Tír Chonaill county have retained the Anglo-Celt cup for the first time since 2012, while it has been their fifth title since 2011.

It finished on a scoreline in Clones on a scoreline of 1:24 to 2:16, Donegal led by 13 points to five at half time, before a high scoring second half.

A goal and four points from Jamie Brennan and five points from Paddy McBrearty helped Donegal to victory, while Cavan's defenders could not keep up.

Donegal were in total control in the first half, with nine seperate scorers in the opening 35 minutes, with Cavan's players looking shell-shocked.

Despite a strong second half from the Breffni County in the second half where they scored 2:11, it was not  enough to keep up with the 2012 All-Ireland Champions as they were able to match them score for score.

The Breffni county finished strong with a goal in injury time from Stephen Murphy, who fisted a long ball past Shaun Patton in the Donegal net to cut their lead to four points, however they will now enter Round 4 of the qualifiers.

On the path to the Ulster Football Final, Donegal defeated Fermanagh in the quarter-final before beating Tyrone by four points in the last-four, while Cavan had to content with last year's All-Ireland semi-finalists Monaghan in the last-eight before needing a replay against Armagh to book their place in the decider.

Cavan's hope for an Ulster title will have to go on another year, after appearing in their first provincial decider since 2001.

Donegal have now booked their place in the Super 8s, for the second year in a row. They will be in Group 1 alongside Kerry, the winner of Galway's Round 4 qualifier as well as the Leinster final loser's qualifier.

The Breffni County meanwhile will enter into the qualifiers at the Round 4 stage.
