Drumgoon and Cavan native Aogán Ó Fearghail is beginning his first week as President of Ireland's largest sporting and cultural organisation. Cavan's first GAA President had scores of supporters in the audience cheering him on after he accepted the reins - hopefully he will be able to put his hands on enough All Ireland Final tickets for the substantial throng! Speaking to delegates after officially succeeding Liam Ó Néill as Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, taking on the role formally at the end of the GAA's 2015 Annual Congress at the Slieve Russell Hotel in Cavan, he gave a stirring speech. The big question is which province is the donkey he referred to? (See 5.28 in video below)

One of the key motions passed was the rubberstamping of one on one hurling penalties.

Well done to the Slieve Russell on an excellent staging of the event and welcome Aogán. With the GAA now having a global reach it's set to be a busy term. Also thanks to Liam O'Neill for all his support to date.
