Galvin set to join Kildare's management team | reports

Paul Galvin looks set for a return to the inter-county fold.

The former Kerry footballer is believed to be in line to join the Kildare management team.

The Irish Independent reports that Galvin will serve as forwards coach.

A four-time All-Ireland winner with Kerry, Galvin also collected the Footballer of the Year award in 2009 along with three All-Star awards during a decorated career.

His initial foray into management at county level was a brief stint with the Wexford footballers.

He took charge of the Model County ahead of the 2020 season, but stepped down as the pandemic arrived.

This was due to his relocation to the west of Ireland.

However, he is now set to join the Kildare set-up under new manager Glenn Ryan.

The former Lilywhites star has assembled a high-profile management team, which includes Johnny Doyle, Dermot Earley, Anthony Rainbow and Brian Lacey.

Kildare last night lost out in the O'Byrne Cup semi-final to Laois after a penalty shootout.

They open their Division One league campaign at home to Kerry on the weekend after next.
