It was edge of the seat stuff at the Etihad stadium as Manchester city emerged 5-3 winners in the 8 goal Champions League thriller. Some of the defending was more Keystone Cops than what you'd expect to see in Europe's elite club competition. However that chip by Radamel Falcao? Delicious! Only a drop of vinegar and salt would have improved it.

But it got me thinking. What were the other great chips in the game? As a young fella TV shows with goals galore were compelling viewing. This one by David Beckham would surely make any list of the greatest goals of all time.
Of course the business of chipping isn't just reserved for Falcao, Beckham or Beshoffs. Rory didn't get made World number 3 for nothing.
One of my favorite goals ever in Croke Park was in 2012. Step up Ursula Jacob. I don't know if you'll see a better strike than the one at 1.55 here.
And I was lucky enough to witness this one live in the stadium in New York. What happened in the immediate aftermath of the match you'll have to ask a man who shall be known only as Zico from Portlaw. Sin Sceal eile. But Ray Houghton would surely be up there as one of Ireland's greatest and most important goalscorers.
Let the debate begin on others that should be on that list. Do you want vinegar with that?
