Cian Healy has been back training with the Irish Rugby squad as they continue their build up to Saturday’s crucial RBS Six Nations Championship match against France in Paris. The Leinster prop was wearing a protective boot after injuring his right ankle while scoring during Ireland’s victory over Italy. Now back in action he looks set to retain his place in the front row for the Stade de France showdown. Peter O’Mahony is over his hamstring problem; Conor Murray has recovered from illness, so Joe Schmidt has a fully fit squad to choose from.

Fergus McFadden is another player who scored against Italy at the weekend. The Kildare man darted under the posts having replaced Brian O’Driscoll in the second half and after the match used Twitter to jokingly thank the crowd for the standing ovation. McFadden has told Ross Lindsay that Ireland are in for a more testing encounter this weekend, against a side he describes as dangerous and tricky to predict.
