The Irish rugby team and their supporters are backing Ian Madigan following the news that he will start the World Cup quarter final against Argentina at the Millennium Stadium. The Leinster man will wear the number 10 shirt as injury has forced Johnny Sexton out on the eve of the match.
Sexton was highlighted as one of the players Ireland could not afford to miss prior to the start of the tournament. The worst was feared when he limped out of last week's win over France, but Ian Madigan stepped up.
Sexton's withdrawal brings to four the number of front liners Ireland are missing for this game, but Irish fans on the streets of Cardiff are confident Madigan can steer them to a first ever World Cup semi final.
