There's a lot of talk of late about Championship structures. That's all in the future. Whatever way the powers that be decide to structure the summer, if indeed any change is on the way, Ireland's counties still have to get on with things and make their own plans.
The win by the senior footballers of Sligo over Galway in Dr. Hyde Park on Sunday 8th of July 2007, was one that lives long in the memory in the shadow of Benbulben.
It was a win that ended 32 years of heart break for the Yeats County and one that saw the Nestor Cup return to Sligo for the first time since 1975.
Now comes news of the launch of Club Sligo in Dublin and surrounding Counties this week. Club Sligo fundraising will support the development of the new Sligo GAA Centre of Excellence so if you're an exile from Sligeach be sure and turn up to help your own this week!
