Kerry have brought Dublin’s 36-game unbeaten run to an end.

The Kingdom have beaten the Dubs by 20 points to 1-16 to claim their first Allianz Football League Division 1 title since 2009.

A missed Dean Rock free was the difference between the sides after a pulsating final at Croke Park.

Trailing by a point at half time, Kerry scored 6 points without reply following the restart.

Dublin mounted a comeback which included a Paul Mannion goal.

There was just a point between the sides when 4 minutes into injury time Dublin were awarded a free.

Rock stepped up to take the kick from outside the 45 metre line.

Extra time looked on the cards as the ball sailed through the air, but it bounced off the post.

Dublin manager Jim Gavin felt Kerry were deserved winners, but his opposite number Eamonn Fitzmaurice says luck plays a key part when big results rely on tiny margins.
