Kerry senior football captain Kieran Donaghy spoke to presenter Paul Collins for the first Championship Sunday show of the season with SKY Sports.

The 32 year old from Tralee won his fourth All Ireland medal last September, scoring a goal in the final against Donegal, which would help land him an All Star.

Donaghy burst onto the national sporting landscape 9 years ago - being named footballer of the year.

Further Celtic Crosses would follow with Kerry in 07 and 09, but there were also lows - a famous picture in 2011 showed Donaghy lying alone on the Croke Park sod as Dublin snatched the Sam Maguire Cup.

Last year, Donaghy battled injury and was on the fringes of the first team until manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice sprung him from the bench in the semi final against Mayo.

And he says patience and belief allowed him to make a difference on a tense August afternoon:
