There has been plenty discussion about Henry Shefflin this week. Will he go will he stay? When will we hear? One thing there's general agreement about is he's one of a kind. A thorn in the side of so many defenders since 1999. The Ballyhale Shamrocks star said himself this week that going out after winning another All Ireland at Croke Park this time with his club, would be the perfect way to sign off. For youngsters who wonder what it takes to be the next Henry Shefflin or TJ Reid there was a revealing quote by Ballyhale's joint manager Andy Molony this week. ' When TJ and Henry are out there taking frees and shots. You nearly have to turn off the floodlights to get them in off the field'. Now that's commitment. Could this have been Henry's last stand at GAA HQ?

Since his debut in 1999, Henry has had journalists scratching their heads for ways to properly articulate his contribution to the matches he was involved in. To put Shefflin's 16 year long career in context? Better get working on that.
