Everton's long wait for a Merseyside Derby win at Anfield goes on, and it's a record that was never really in doubt yesterday.

Jurgen Klopp's side strengthened their top four ambitions with a 3-1 win against their arch rivals, although a knee injury to Sadio Mane may put a dampener on the celebrations.

Mane broke the deadlock in emphatic fashion on eight minutes, playing a one-two with Roberto Firmino before moving in off the right wing to fire into the bottom corner.

Some careless defending allowed Matthew Pennington to equalise for the Toffees, but within two minutes Philippe Coutinho had Liverpool back in front, before Divock Origi completed the scoring in the second half.

Brian Kerr watched the game for us live at Anfield, and was joined on the line afterwards by Mark Lawrenson to talk about where it went right for Liverpool, and where it went wrong for Everton.

Both were in agreement that Ronald Koeman's decision to play so many young players backfired on him, while Lawro also said today's result makes it even more certain that Romelu Lukaku is leaving Goodison Park this summer.
