Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson will undergo a scan after suffering a knee injury during his side's 3-1 win away to Brighton in the Premier League.

Henderson scored the second of Liverpool's three goals early in the first half but the Reds skipper was replaced by James Milner 10 minutes from time due to a suspected knee injury.

Asked about the injury, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said: "I don't know, honestly. I didn't see the situation back on the pitch but I know that it will not be nothing, probably.

"That’s how it is, but we have to wait. I cannot say more. I have had press since the game is over, so I have no idea how he left the dressing room."

Henderson has been pivotal in Liverpool's title success this season and the goal against Brighton was his fourth league goal of the season, which means he's scored more league goals in the current campaign than in his previous three seasons combined before this (three).

Liverpool's win moved them to 92 points with four games to play, which keeps the newly-crowned champions on course to break Manchester City's Premier League-winning points tally of 100 points in the 2017-18 season.

Liverpool are back in action on Saturday with a game against Burnley at Anfield and after that they are due to face Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle.

Klopp insists it is too early to be talking about topping what City did two years ago.

"What can I say? When I think about the next four opponents and think we will get 12, 10, or whatever points, I can't do that," the German said.

"How could I assume we could get all these points?

"When I think about 92 points, I think how could we get 97 last year (finishing second), it's unbelievable.

"First and foremost you have to fight for the three points. That's the mother and the father of each win that you really work hard for it, and the boys did that again, that's great."

Mohamed Salah's two goals brought his tally to 19 for the season in the Premier League, leaving him just three behind Leicester's Jamie Vardy in the race for the Golden Boot.

Salah is aiming to finish top of the goalscoring charts for the third season in a row after winning the Golden Boot outright in 2017-18 and sharing it with Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last season.
