London Irish continue spending to land All-Black superstar Naholo

He's the 7th international to link up with Declan Kidney's side

Another day, another huge signing for Declan Kidney's London Irish.

They've confirmed the signing of All-Black winger Waisake Naholo, who will link up with the Premiership-bound side after the World Cup in Japan.

Naholo is the seventh high-profile international to commit to the Exiles for next season.

A Super Rugby winner with the Highlanders in 2015, Naholo was also part of the New Zealand side who lifted the World Cup in England later that year.

He's scored 16 tries in 26 test appearances, as well as crossing 41 times in 58 appearances for the Highlanders in Super Rugby since 2015, the most of any player in that time.

Director of Rugby Declan Kidney says he's thrilled to have been able to secure the services of the Fijian-born star.

"Waisake is a top-class player who will bring great experience with him, which we hope he can pass onto our younger players as they continue their development with us," he said.

"We are delighted that a player of his ability and age profile has bought into our vision for where we as a club are working hard to get to. We look forward to welcoming him to Hazelwood when he is finished with his commitments with the NZRU."

"Following a great career with the All Blacks, Highlanders and Taranaki I am excited by the challenge of joining London Irish” Naholo expressed.

"London Irish is a team on the up and has an exciting future. There is plenty of ambition, a world-class training facility, a good group of coaches and players and some exciting signings coming in. The supporters have a great reputation as well and I'm looking forward to it."

Naholo joins a long list of international stars who have committed to the Championship winners for next season.

Yesterday, they announced the expected signing of former Irish International Paddy Jackson from Perpignan, while Sean O'Brien will also join at the conclusion of the World Cup.

That's in addition to the three Australian internationals who are joining from the Waratahs; experienced prop Sekope Kepu, scrum-half Nick Phipps and centre Curtis Rona. Scotland's loosehead prop is Allan Dell is also arriving from Edinburgh.
