Wales Rugby head coach Wayne Pivac has included just one uncapped player in his squad for this year's Six Nations Championship.

Scarlets back-row Josh Macleod looks set to make his international debut under Pivac during their 2021 campaign which opens with a match against Ireland in Cardiff on 7 February.

Macleod (main pic) had been selected in the squad last autumn but was subsequently ruled out of contention for selection because of a hamstring injury.

Prop Rhodri Jones and flanker Dan Lydiate are both recalled having last represented their country in June and November of 2018 respectively.

Despite much speculation, there is no room for Rhys Priestland with Cardiff Blues' Jarrod Evans instead being given the nod while Rhys Webb has been axed.

"We are hugely looking forward to meeting up as a squad on Monday and to the forthcoming campaign," Pivac said as Wales prepare to host Ireland in less than two weeks time.

"As we consistently spoke about, the autumn for us was about opportunity and development, looking ahead to Rugby World Cup 2023 and it served that purpose for us.

"This campaign is different, it is tournament rugby and we are excited to get going and play our part.

"We have picked a squad for this tournament based on form and we are excited to meet up on Monday and get our preparation underway."
