Roy Keane Looking Forward To An Exciting Few Months

Harry Arter will miss the Republic of Ireland’s friendlies against Switzerland and Slovakia. The Bournemouth suffered an achilles injury during the Cherries’ 3-0 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday.

 

Arter missed the start of the Premier League season due to injury but he has been a regular in Eddie Howe’s side since he returned. He’s the one player that many feel go to Euro 2016 despite not being involved in any of the qualifiers.

 

Roy Keane spoke to the media today and the assistant manager said Arter’s absence wouldn’t necessarily mean the door was shut on his chances of heading to France this summer. If the Bournemouth midfielder is back playing for his club he will be given a chance to impress in the friendly against the Netherlands in May.

 

Jeff Hendrick could also miss both games due to a shoulder injury and is set to return to Derby County for treatment on the problem. Robbie Brady also has a shoulder injury but the Norwich midfielder is yet to be ruled out of the game against Switzerland on Good Friday. Jon Walters sat out training due to a knee injury and captain Robbie Keane was also absent.
