That starts with tricky encounter against nearest rivals Wales at the Aviva Stadium.
The teams know each other inside out, but the result is never predictable.
Wales were the only team to beat Ireland in last year's tournament, but suffered a humiliating 26-3 defeat when the sides met at Lansdowne Road in 2013
It will be the fourth meeting between the two nations in just over an year, and the tenth encounter since the turn of the decade.
