There is a notable absence in the Pro 12 dream team for the 2014-15 season. There are 7 Irish based players, but Leinster have been left out in the cold.  The Dream Team was selected by a media panel made up of 4 Irish, 3 Welsh, 2 Scottish and 2 Italian Rugby writers.

Semi finalists Ulster, Ospreys and Glasgow all have three representatives. (Ulster: Craig Gilroy, Rory Best, and Franco ven der Merwe. Ospreys: Dan Biggar, Rhys Webb and Alan Wyn Jones. Glasgow: Tommy Seymore, Peter Horne and Josh Strauss).

Munster have two, Tommy O’Donnell and CJ Stander. Connacht also have two, Robbie Henshaw and prop Denis Buckley, who has played in all but one of the Westerners’ Pro 12 games this season. The Scarlets Liam Williams and WP Nel from Edinburgh are also included.

It has been far from a vintage season for Leinster. They have finished outside the Top 4 for the first time since 2004. Matt O'Connor's men did reach the semi finals of the European Champions Cup and the province was the bulk suppliers for Ireland’s second successive Six Nations Championship victory, but those don’t count in this selection.
