All Ireland champions Kilkenny have seven players included in the Opel GAA/GPA All-Star team. Two of those Joey Holden and Ger Aylward are both first time winners while Paul Murphy gets his fourth All Star in five seasons. Michael Fennelly, Richie Hogan and TJ Reid complete a hat-trick of awards and Cillian Buckley is included for the second year in a row.
Beaten finalists Galway have four positions with goalkeeper Colm Callanan included along with Daithi Burke, Cathal Mannion and David Burke who also won an All Star back in 2012. Maurice Shanahan is one of three Waterford players to receive an award - the others are Noel Connors and Tadhg de Búrca. Tipperary's Seamus Callanan is the only player the Munster champions have included in the 15.
