Seven more Russian athletes have been given the green light by the IAAF to compete in international competition as neutrals. World champions Sergey Shubenkov and Maria Kuchina are among the seven to be cleared after they met the criteria of the IAAF Doping Review Board.
The IAAF has announced that the seven would join five others who were previously cleared after satisfying the board that they have been training in an environment that passes the necessary anti-doping requirements. In total this year 10 applications have been approved and 17 have been declined.
The Russian national athletics federation is still suspended due to widespread and systematic doping, meaning the majority of Russian athletes won't be allowed to compete in the world championships in London in August.
