If some of us got even so much as a sniffle we would be on the phone to the boss looking for a day off. I include myself in that category. But the national hunt jockeys are something else.

Take Kildare jockey Katie Walsh who has shaken off injury concerns to declare herself fit for the worlds greatest steepelechase.

She is primed to ride in the Aintree Grand National, despite a bad fall at on day 1 of the Merseyside racing festival.

Katie came off Distime at The Chair in the Foxhunter's Chase, and was taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm which would have ruled her out of tommorrow's big race.

But Walsh later tweeted to say she'd be at the start line.

She's due to ride 40-to-1 shot Wonderful Charm and hats off for her steely determination. Fingers crossed for her now.
