CJ Stander is a serial award winner.
He has put in over 30 ‘Man of the Match’ performances for Munster, was named 2016 Player of the Year by Irish rugby writers and became the first forward to score a Six Nations hat trick in Ireland’s big win over Italy in Rome last month.
Stander had another superb performance in the recent victory over England at the Aviva Stadium, but the voting public think Stuart Hogg was the best player of 2017 Six Nations.
The Scottish full back, who scored two early tries against Ireland at Murrayfield and another against France in Paris, obtained 24.60% of the votes cast for the award.
Stander came second receiving just 14.95%, but knows how to deal with a situation like this.
