Manchester United have been busy in the transfer market today and unlike last year they're doing their business early.

Louis Van Gaal had the small matter of a World Cup to take care of with the Netherlands last summer but he's already added four new players to his squad.

Bastian Schweinsteiger has agreed a three year deal at Old Trafford and joins from Bayern Munich for a fee in the region of 15 million pounds.

The German knows Van Gaal well from his time at Bayern and he comes to the Premier League with a bundle of medals.

The 30 year old won 8 league titles, the Champions League and was part of Germany's World Cup winning team in Brazil 12 months ago.

Morgan Schneiderlin moves from Southampton for 24 million pounds and the French International has agreed a four year contract.

The 25-year-old played for Southampton from 2008 and scored his first goal for the Saints away to Bristol Rovers in 2010 when they were in the third tier of English football.

So it's quite a turn around for Schneiderlin who had also been linked with a move away from St. Mary's last summer.

Both players have travelled to the US for United's pre season tour along with the clubs other new signings Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian.

Like any transfers only time will tell if United have done good business but there's a nice mix with the four new recruits. It's also still unclear if David de Gea will be at Old Trafford next season but the Spaniard has been included in the travelling party despite being heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
