Watch: Raheem Sterling leads call for end to racial injustice

Raheem Sterling has led a phalanx of leading football figures in a call for an end to racial injustice.

The Manchester City forward is joined in the 'I Am Tired' video by Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, City team-mate Kevin De Bruyne and Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

Sterling has been one of the leading voices in the fight against racism, and has used that voice particularly well since the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

"I feel like I speak for most black people – everyone is tired,” Sterling told Sky Sports

"A lot of people who have been in silence are using this opportunity as a moment to be one and try to get not just answers but changes to society.

"I’m not someone with the most ideas in the world, or who knows exactly what to do, but we just have to highlight these things that people are facing in everyday aspects of their lives.

"It is something that is coming up a lot more which is a good thing. I truly do believe that now is the time that we have to act."

For the first twelve games upon the Premier League's resumption, player names on the backs of jerseys will be replaced by the phrase 'Black Lives Matter'.

Sheffield United play Aston Villa in the first game back, and they revealed what their away kit will look like when they take to the field at Villa Park.

In the video released on social media, Sterling, Lucy Bronze, Gael Clichy, Vincent Kompany, David Alaba and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain address the camera with the following:

We are tired of no-one listening.

We are tired of screaming for help.

We are tired of discrimination.

We are tired of protesting.

We are tired of demanding social equality.

We are tired of demanding social inclusion.

We are tired of asking for change, for a better society, for a better life.

We are tired of seeing black men die.

We are tired of saying 'What if it was me, falling asleep like George Floyd?'

We're tired of no-one listening.

I will never tire of being black.

Change needs to happen and happen now.
