Do you remember your first pair of football boots?

This week's World of Football was inspired by the news that Manchester United's Zlatan Ibrahimovic no longer has a boot deal, allowing us to reflect on our first pair of kicks.

Philip Egan started his career in a sensible pair of Power boots, before moving on to the even more sensible Patrick. Patrick was also the boot of choice for Paul Collins, while I (Neil Treacy) went for Italian style in the form of Lotto. Ross Lindsay stuck with the tried and trusted Pumas, but John Duggan - the street footballer - donned a pair of Gary Lineker-endorsed Quasars.

That brought John, Phil and Brian Kerr onto other childhood football memories, such as Subbuteo, Panini stickers and using just about any round object you could find in the schoolyard as a football.

What are your memories of following football as a kid? Did you read Match magazine or Shoot? Or you might even have been a Roy of the Rovers type guy. Send us your memories @todayfmsport.
