They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and this snap of Longford senior football goalkeeper Paddy Collum after conceding his fourth goal at the weekend says it all. The issue of championship structures may seem like a hardy annual topic at this time of year but as the pressure on players to deliver results increases, so too it seems does the intensity of the debate on the subject.

In the wake of Dublin's 27 point hammering of Longford at the weekend now it seems the Leinster GAA Council are mulling over ways to limit the number of lob sided games in the province.

A bye for Dublin into the Leinster Senior football semi final said to be among the proposals under consideration.

You'd want to be a cross between Einstein and Ban Ki-Moon to come up with a solution that will work for all stakeholders in the games and provinces but one person has put forward a plan.

It's far from perfect but Luke Connolly tweeted me this proposal:

Here's a flavour of the responses:

A great suggestion and it would work if all GAA elements buy into it. We need change urgently.

@paulcollinstipp @LukeConnolly2 good idea but you might aswell forget about club games altogether during this period... — Paul Henry (@NenaghTipp0)

Anyone got any better ideas?
